Top 5 steps to know before contouring
Ever had trouble trying to chisel
those cheeks? We all know the struggle of trying to achieve that trendy contour
that every girls using these days. Often our face can become a little bland. Or
many also have more of a round face shape. If you want to slim your face down,
or bring out your best features, here’s a technique that can help you in the
long run. Here, on daily revivals, we will show you the best way to contour,
without having to experience the “mud” look that many do.
Step 1: Find the correct shade
Often, girls have trouble finding
the correct shade. One should go one shade darker, or max 2 shades for a more
sculpted look. If you’re trying to achieve a more natural soft look, go one
shade down. Although if you’re light-medium skin tone, gear towards the taupes
and greyish tones. If you’re more of a deep complexion gear towards the warmer
cognac colors.
Step 2: Don’t contour everything
Do not start contouring ever single
feature, stick to the basics. Cheekbones, nose, forehead, and jawline (if
preferred). All of these features you are working on are either to be
minimized, or enhanced. For example, some people have a larger nose that they
would like to minimize. Others may have a wideset forehead that they would like
to shrink a little. Or this could also be an enhancing choice, such as a sharp,
cut jawline.
Step 3: Layer your product
If your contour isn’t prominent, and
you wish it to be, add more product. Start off with a light layer. If it isn’t
visible, add another light layer. Never go straight onto your face with a heavy
layer, that will cause the “muddy” look that no girl wants.
Step 4: Avoid products with shimmer
Products with shimmer give off a different
look than what individuals are often trying to accomplish. The matte look is the
most preferred since it looks simple and clean at the same time.
Step 5: Balance
There is nothing worse than applying
a heavy load of heavy product. One, it does not even look good. Two, it feels
like your face is being suffocated by a whole lot of powder. Lastly, it
interferes with the attention from the chiseled cheeks you are trying to
achieve. Apply blush. Apply highlighter. Although one should apply just a little
to enhance.
