DIY: Avocado and Banana Hair Mask
Ever had trouble with dry and brittle hair? Every girl’s
worst nightmare is to feel your hair and be absolutely frightened that the ends
will tear. This is due to either excessive heat application or the lack of care
when it comes to your prized possession, your hair. Often, we don’t notice the
damage we are causing, until its extremely noticeable. The reason we find it noticeable
is when you begin to see the ends of your hair breaking (split ends). This will
then cause your hair to look dull and withered. Our goal is to restore the beauty
that lies within those dry ends. The banana and avocado hair mask is your go to
when it comes to restoring your hairs health. The banana is infused with amino
acids, which protect your hair from any type of environmental damage. The
avocado contains vitamin A and vitamin B, which nourish the hair as well as the
scalp. Aside from the vitamins infused within, avocado also helps add, or
restore shine, moisture and body to the hair. Eggs are also used during the
process because it’s a protein that strengthens hair. Lastly, the vinegar that
is also used is used to add the light and clean feel.
Ingredients:
· ¼
cup of apple cider vinegar
· 1
cup of water
· ½
of avocado
· ½
of banana
· 1
large egg
· 1
tablespoon of olive oil
Instructions:
Step 1. Begin to combine the water and vinegar in a
bowl or any measuring cup, and place it aside.
Step 2: Start combining the banana, avocado, egg and
oil into a blender until there are no lumps. The texture has to look whipped and
airy.
Step 3: Begin to apply the hair mask onto your hair
and into the scalp. It is important to massage in order to increase the
potential hair growth and infuse the vitamins into the dry and brittle hair.
Move your hands in circular motions all throughout your head. Keep massaging
for a good 3 minutes.
Step 4: Once done, grab a wide tooth comb and brush
through your hair to distribute evenly.
Step 5: Place your hair into a bun and place a shower
cap over your head to protect.
Step 5: Leave the hair mask on for 20 minutes to let
the hair mask sink in.
Step 6: Remove the hair mask by rinsing with cool water,
and begin to shampoo you hair as you regularly would.
Step 7: Once you believe all the residue is gone,
apply a water/ vinegar mixture throughout your hair to stray away from any
possible residue left over. Leave the mixture on for 1-2 minutes.
Step 8: Lastly, rinse with shampoo to remove the
mixture.
